It is hard to place a value on website branding, as it is very difficult to see whether or not it pays off. There are no figures that can be quoted as to average earnings which we can attribute to website branding. Website branding could produce 5% growth, it could produce 10% growth and it could just as likely produce nothing. There is one thing that can be said for certain, it is not going to lose you any more money than it costs to incorporate in your website.
Despite there being no guarantees of benefits from website branding, most people will contend that a well branded website looks professional. With the right type of website branding, a site can attract more traffic and perhaps get a few more leads. Whereas many of the changes that people make to their websites are to accommodate search engines, website branding is purely for people. You might call it a type of human optimization.
If you are not sure where to begin with your website branding, you might want to start with a good logo, or better yet a header image. This is something that many webmasters attempt to do by themselves. Instead of doing it yourself, you might want to try outsourcing it. Professionals often achieve much better results than those that merely dabble. A professionally designed logo can set you back anywhere in the region of $100-$500, and a header would be in the upper area of that price range up to a little more depending on the options that you choose.
Beyond site logos and headers, you might wish to start locking in domain names that are related to your brand. This is often a long term process as some domain names can be quite expensive. Start acquiring them as you get the opportunities. There are monitoring services that can help you to do this.
The biggest and most drastic change that you can make in order to accommodate your website branding is to do a ground up site redesign. In this way you can incorporate your website branding into every aspect of your site. The cost of this website branding improvement will ultimately depend on how far you want to go with it, the size of your site and how easy it is for you or your designer to incorporate changes into your website. Altering a CMS is very easy, but a large website can be difficult.
For many businesses, website branding is a process that is very much a part of their growth. Website branding imparts a professional image on a company, which can make the difference between surviving and thriving. If you have not addressed the issue of website branding, maybe it is time.

There are many people that are wondering what will happen to the Yahoo! brand under Microsoft’s ownership. According to Microsoft, it is not going to go anywhere. “We love the Yahoo! Brand,” says Microsoft, so it looks like it is here to stay. I tend to agree with the analysis of the situation that we see on Web Pro News.
It makes perfect sense. MSN is pretty much a failed shot at creating a Yahoo-type division, with the only successful parts of MSN either being rolled into Windows Live (Hotmail, Messenger) or existing as popular but rudderless content websites. Microsoft has never been good at content, so rolling the content side of MSN into Yahoo will give those sites a future and a more coherent strategy going forward.
Microsoft has enormous brand recognition, they have done very well for themselves in this regard, but it is true that they have failed to create a strong Internet presence. Don’t get me wrong, MSN Live has been growing in leaps and bounds, but it lacks something that the Yahoo! brand captured quite well.
Bringing Yahoo! under the Microsoft helm may in fact strengthen its brand. One thing that has been a constant topic of conversation is Yahoo!’s lackluster marketing techniques. The Yahoo! brand has always been strong, they just never made the most of it. With the deep pockets of Microsoft running the show, things might change and it will be interesting to see how the Redmond behemoth steers the brand into the future.

There was an interesting blurb on SEO Book today that I thought was worth repeating:
As large media sites open up to user generated content they are going to keep losing brand and value to niche channels owned and operated by people who are so passionate about their subject that their brands have purpose and lasting value.
You might disagree with this, but think about it, are people going to keep supporting massive online retailers when they have highly focused niche suppliers to connect with? While some might argue that it is getting tougher for the little guy (and it is by the way), future trends might be a little different. If you take a look at enthusiast websites, you can see that a lot more of them are selling than ever before. In some of these cases they are drop shipping or mere affiliates in large retail networks, but a good number of them are selling their own merchandise and their website branding is getting better, much better.
Niche channels are the way of the future, especially as social networks feature more heavily in online retail. If your website branding is not up to scratch, it will be very easy to fall by the wayside.

Choosing the right domain or domains for your product is one of the most important aspects of your website branding. Sure, people can find their way to obscure websites, but it will be tough for them to find their way back if your domain is difficult to remember. Here are a few quick domain name tips to help you with the process of website branding.
- Choose the right domain extension. The big domain extensions are dot com and dot net. Other extensions have yet to really take off. One that you might want to consider if you offer a lot of video content, however, is dot TV.
- Cover as many domain extensions as possible. You don’t need to worry about the non-core domain extensions, but try to snap up the dot com, dot net, dot org and dot info if they become available. The more of these you have the better for your website branding.
- Choose simple domain names. Most one word domain names are taken and cost big bucks to acquire. You can still find plenty of good two and three word options out there. Here is a tip, blend two words together to make your own word. If it is catch and intuitive, people will remember it and it will be a real boost to your website branding.
- Choose many and choose often. Once your website takes off, you can make a bigger effort with your website branding. Purchase related domain names as they become available.
- Choose content appropriate for the domain name extension. This is more about image than about website branding. A business related website should be dot com or dot net. If you have an informational blog to go along with your website use dot info and if you have a ton of video content that you want to share, you can use dot TV. Having multiple domain names lets you keep everything on top level domains.
Domain names are a crucial part of your website branding, do the right thing and you will be able to build a powerful brand.

Website branding encompasses various aspects of a site’s unique and defining characteristics. Everything from the choice of colors to the style of a site can be part of its branding. Even the domain name is part of the brand. When it comes to website branding, one thing that is commonly overlooked and underplayed is the website logo. Why do so many people skimp when it comes time to create a logo? I have a few theories, but I think in most cases, this is how it happens.
These days, it is possible to put together a website with very little effort and very little expertise. With a little practice, anyone can install a functioning script. There are hundreds of thousands of free templates out there that can be tweaked ever so slightly to become part of a brand. The vast majority of webmasters are do it yourselfers. They have figured out that they do not need to pay a great deal of money for a simple website. They can get their blog or their content management system up and running without calling in the pros. Many of them have an idea about website branding and can handle the basics. They can come up with a great uniform color scheme, they can procure a domain name that has a bit of zap, and they can set the tone of their site to make it their own. It all takes a lot of time but costs a relatively small amount of money.
The website logo gets overlooked as a part of the website branding process because most people are not able to create their own attractive logo. This is a shame, because a good logo has so many other uses. You can use it for signage, stationary and business materials as well. Your logo does not need to be limited to mere website branding; it can become a part of your total brand as well. So what if it costs a few bucks, it is a worthy investment.

Web design projects can create time management issues. It takes a great deal of time to code a site if you are not doing it all the time. There once was a time that I would do all of my site designing myself in a bid to save a few extra bucks. It usually worked out well for me, but spending hundreds of hours in front of the computer screen designing websites is not my idea of fun. I prefer to be in the trenches making sales, promoting, producing content and that sort of thing. Time is money after all, and why not spend your time doing the things that you do best? Outsourcing website design can be a massive time saver and is not all that expensive with GetAFreelancer.com and Quote Catcher.
I use Quote Catcher for times that I want a site designed from the ground up. Quote Catcher will allow different designers to bid for your site. You will get up to five quotes, you choose the one that is the best offer from your point of view. The best offer does not have to be the cheapest one. It depends on your needs, if you want a slick looking website, then it is probably wise to go with whichever site designer has the most impressive portfolio. If it does not really matter, go with the cheapest.
When I have smaller or more technical jobs, I use GetAFreelancer.com. With GetAFreelancer.com you give a specific outline of the job that you require and freelance programmers will offer you bids. It is important to distinguish GetAFreelancer from Quote Catcher. The freelancers on GetAFreelancer.com are programmers, you use them for programming related jobs. If you need a shopping cart system, or would like to make some sort of site related improvement, this is the place to go.

Do distinguish your website from others.
To create an image or theme that is associated with your site or business.
To attract customers and generate leads.
To create an association between your website and your product.
If these concepts seem vague, it is because they are. There are many ways to develop your website brand. The best way will depend largely on the type of product or service you are offering. This will determine what you need to do to stand out from the pack.

Website designing can be quite time consuming, so there is little wonder that many people choose to outsource. A professionally designed website tends to carry a consistent theme throughout and can be an extremely potent Website Branding statement. If you are planning a new website and what to get a clear idea of costs for outsourcing QuoteCatcher is a great source of information.
QuoteCatcher is simply a place that you can go to post up details of your project. Once the details are up you will receive quotes from different designers. You can pick your website designer based on the quotes that you receive. It is a simple way to reduce the costs that you spend establishing your website branding.
Designing a new site with website branding in mind from the ground up is perhaps the easiest way to ensure that your website has a consistent look and feel. If you are interested in some other ways that you can improve the look and feel of your site, visit us here at Brick Marketing.

What does branding have to do with sales? The answer is everything. Website Branding is as important, if not more important than branding for any bricks and mortar business. People identify companies with their branding. It can be one of the most important parts of your business, it can generate volumes of traffic and it can mean the difference between an average site and a monster.
Here is a quick website branding checklist if you answer no to any of these questions, think about how you can remedy the situation as soon as possible.
Does your website have a consistent look?
Have you created social networking pages in addition to your website?
Have you got a unique and attractive logo?
Is your website content professionally written?
Do all of your different scripts and applications interact seamlessly for your customers?
Have you purchased a variety of domain names that relate to your site and product keywords?
If you answered no to any of those questions, you could be doing more. The first step with branding is to create a unified look and feel to your site. If you have a blog in addition to your website, try to ensure that they have a similar look and feel. You want people to know at all times that they are on your site. CSS style sheets can make this job a lot easier. Keep the same fonts, colors and logo on all of your pages.
If you don’t already have one, start at MySpace page. In fact, you would do well to start a company page in each of the social networking sites. This is a lot of work at first, but once you establish a routine, it gets easier.
Your website content speaks volumes for your brand. If your content is sloppy, your business looks sloppy. If you are running a commercial website, outsource as much of your content as possible.
Your website should be a single entity, not a mishmash of mismatched scripts. It is well worth getting a professional to work integrating your website. It is acceptable to use different scripts, but you want them working with synergy.
From the very beginning, you should be thinking about different domain names that you can acquire to boost your performance. Register as many domain names with as many different extensions as is feasible. At the very least, start with a COM, NET and ORG. INFO is a good one to cover, if you keep a blog then you might like to direct people there. At the very least, you can redirect people from these sites. As your business expands, start to cover even more domain names. It is all good for your website branding.
If you are aiming to establish a more stable, professional image, please contact us at Brick Marketing. We can help you to kick start your sales with website branding.

It’s often said that SEO begins with your domain name. Your domain name can be used for website search engine optimization or for website branding purposes. Either way, you want to have something catchy and simple. A lot of successful sites have great domain names, it is no coincidence. When it comes to choosing your domain you want something that either matches your brand or reflects your product and you do not want anything that is too long. A combination of two words is generally the best way to go, though at a stretch three is acceptable. When you are writing a long URL, you can differentiate between the words by capitalizing the first letter of every word in the URL.
The trouble with the Internet these days is that a lot of URLs have been taken. Most of the time it is impossible to find your first choice, so think of a few alternatives. A great place to go to register a domain name is Go Daddy. If you are not familiar with Go Daddy, they are a web hosting site with very reasonable prices and discounts for a lot of services. I have been using Go Daddy for years and have found it the easiest and cheapest place to go to register a domain. The best part about them is that they make multiple domain registration very, very easy and some great discounts apply to bulk orders. If you are in need of Website Search Engine Optimization or some Website Branding advice, come into Brick Marketing. We have provided our services to a wide range of clients.

Website branding is one of the most commonly overlooked aspects of website design. When you really get down to basics most websites in any given industry will have very similar content. Think of branding as optimizing your website for humans. The images that you choose to represent your site will make you stand apart from the competition. Website branding can be as important to traffic as anything else.
You should take your brand very seriously. Every word and image on your website is part of your brand and a representation of your company. Choose your words and images carefully. One of the advantages of online businesses is that it is possible to set up a great store and a great brand without a lot of the outlay that you would need in a real world store. The disadvantage is that online businesses have a lot more competition. Website branding is one of a number of ways that online business owners can separate their website from the rest of the pack.
When it comes to website branding, generally, it is best advised to consult a professional. Some people do a reasonably good job by themselves, but professionals work quickly and objectively. They are already well aware of what works and what doesn’t, there is no learning curve when you deal with professionals. The other advantage of outsourcing your website branding, is that a stranger might be able to provide some additional insights in regards to your company. Our company, Brick Marketing provides a highly professional website branding service. You will find that the prices for website branding are affordable, especially so when you consider that for many businesses, it is a one time only expense.
